Atlanta looks good for the superbowl title

If they don't choke in the playoffs that is.

I think they've only had one appearence ('98?) and they lost. It'd be sort of fun to see someone new win for the first time.

And today the playoffs begin! Think I'll take Seattle over the Redskins for starters...

Atlanta is still in the running, Hydekelso! However, I'm gonna pick SF to win. Their QB looks pretty impressive. In the Ravens vs. Pats, I'm thinking Pats, but just barely.

Well, I was right about the 49ers, but missed on the Ravens. So, it's now San Fran vs Baltimore. San Francisco has experience and history, but the Ravens look pretty powerful. I'm gonna have to think about this before I pick.

I have to go against The Ravens...so, I guess it's gonna be the 49ers for me.

Likewise here. I have relatives in San francisco. Maybe they'll invite us out to watch the game on their TV's (one of them is an attorney, so he ought to have a large screen, fancy one!)

Super Bowl planning is complete. We've ordered hoagies, have bought macadamia nuts (for me) and pistachios (for my wife) and I'm picking up some 3 Philosophers ale & Guiness tomorrow. That ought to keep us happy.

I love pistachios! I rarely see the red ones anymore...guess they feel the red dye isn't good for us...well, at least for our fingertips anyway.

There was some show (Modern Marvels? How It's Made?) that explained why they used the red dye. I've forgotten what they said about it. My own personal favourite place for pastachios is on top of chocolate/vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, cherries and chocolate sauce!

I remember hearing the reason for the red dye...but, I forgot what it was and I'm too lazy today to Google it.

I looked it up (it's the AM and I had time to kill) and they say it may have been to cover up imperfections in the nuts. So if I dye my nuts red it will cover up imperfections?

I did! Then i realized I had to do something useful today, so I got back up again. All I could find was blue dye. So I guess when my wife comes home, I'll have an obvious case of blue ba....naw, I shouldn't go there...

And now it's all said and done. The Ravens held on despite an attempted comeback by the 49ers. Well, rats. Now I owe my pal in Seattle a pound of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. On the plus side, my neighbor's margarita machine worked really well so by the time the game ended nobody much cared who won!

Quite a happy celebration in Baltimore! Someday, in a parallel universe far, far away, maybe the Cleveland Browns will appear in the Superbowl?

Yes Alain, and that will be in the same year as the Cleveland Indians winning the World Series and The Cleveland CAVS win whatever it is they win in basketball...what's our chance at a Stanley Cup?????

Cleveland CAN win the Stanley Cup if the Columbus Blue Jackets move north (or the City of Cleveland annexes Columbus), the province of Quebec loses a war with Ohio and sends all it's hockey stars to Cleveland as tribute, Justin Bieber takes up classical organ as his lifelong career (so he can play in hockey arenas), and Obama ditches Michelle to marry John Boehner. If these things were to happen, then indeed Cleveland will probably win the Cup. It will also prove that the Mayans were right and the world is coming to an end.

On a completely different note, my coffee smells a bit like Peyote this morning...
