The Washington Capitals finally win a Stanley Cup!!!!!

Are you sure the Stanley Cup isn't the 'booby prize'? When I think of all the things that has been done with that trophy....I wouldn't want to touch it!

I have waited all these years to see them do it.
I actually knew people who, correctly as it turned out, said they'd be dead before the Caps took the Cup.

The bookies are also breathing a huge sigh of relief since the payout to people who took Vegas (a first year expansion team) to win The Cup at the start of the season would have been a record.

I always think of the goal Bobby Nystrom of the NY Islanders scored in OT.. Game 6 of the 1980 Stanley Cup finals.

I couldn't quite remember him (but I remember the series since I can't stand the Flyers!) - looked him up. He was "Mr. Islander", right?

I think he was called the "Overtime" king. Him and John Tonelli scored many clutch goals.

I think the new season starts on Oct. 1st 2018 this year.
