Macaroni & Tuna casserole:

* Macaroni & Cheese (2-boxes)
* 1-can of tuna (in water)
* Milk (1/2 cup)
* Butter (1/4 stick)
* 1-can of peas (drained)

(for a different change of pace, and more zesty flavor, substitute regular powdered cheese packet with a block of melted Velveeta Jalapeno cheese)

*quick & easy throw together dish when time is short*

I'm looking forward to Anna Molly's recipes. Morbid curiosity has me thinking about DebtorBasher's.

Alain> Chicken sounds good.

(I hope others use this section to contribute and create a collective cookbook of sorts. Given time, this section could be quite the reference guide for everyone's favorite how-to dishes...getting hungry just thinking about it!)

Ask and you shall receive! I have not tried this recipe, but found it in one of my cookbooks. I personally like making my own gravy, but this one uses the jar gravy. If you try it, let me know how it turns out.

SALISBURY STEAK
1 Lb lean ground beef
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup saltine cracker crumbs
1 egg white, slightly beaten
2 Tbs milk
1 Tbs prepared horseradish
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

MUSHROOM GRAVY
1 jar (12 ounces) brown beef gravy
4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbs water

1) In medium bowl, combine Salisbury steak ingredients, mixing lightly but thoroughly;
shape into 4 oval 1/2 inch think patties.

2) Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Place beef patties in skillet; Cook 7 to 8 minutes or until no longer pink and juices run clear, turning once. Remove from skillet; keep warm.

3) In same skillet, combine gravy ingredients; cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
Serve over Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes, if desired.

Makes 4 servings.

I might give it a try as well...sounds simple enough. It came from one of my cookbooks, '101 Ways To Cook Hamburger'...

This is only for those of us who are growing thai peppers this year.

put a half cup of water into a sauce pan.
toss in a hand full of thai peppers (small red ones)
bring to boil
toss in the ramen noodle flavor packet
toss in the ramen noodles
cook until ramen noodles are done.

TIP
It's best to use the chicken flavored ramen noodles

Basic sugar cookie recipe:
Combine 3 sticks of butter, 1 egg, 4 1/2 cups (I use the presifted) flour using medium mixer speed or, if you're more industrious, mashing together with a potato masher.

Chill dough

Roll out into about a 1/2 - 3/4 inch sheet and cut/design cookies

Add a table spoon of Almond, Vanilla, or Banana extract for an option.

Bake at 350 until just a tad brown on top.

I haven't made these in a while since the sugar and calories are a tad high. They are fun for holiday parties, though!
