John McCain

I was sorry to see John McCain go. There are so few left in The House or the Senate that have anything close to his skill and integrity.

Agreed! I thought he would made a decent President. The only thing I fault him for is picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. All in all he served his country well. I like the fact that he admits he's not perfect and has flaws like everyone else.

I'm not sure if he picked her or if it was a group-type decision. One thing's for sure: Somebody did not do a very good job of vetting her!

I loved Tina Fey's imitation of her on SNL. "I can see Russia from my house".

McCain is one of the few Republicans I respected. Being a republican, I don't know what happened to the party. They are a disgrace!!! Lidman agrees.

I'm a registered Independent so I've always looked for politicians that, at least most of the time, were striving to do things for the betterment of the nation as a whole. I may not agree with everything a politician says and does, but I can respect one that puts the country first. McCain was one and, unfortunately, part of a dying breed in US politics. A politician that exists solely for the purpose of their own self aggrandizement and willingly seeks to damage the country receives neither my vote or respect.

And that is about as much politics as I can handle today. Time to go read the comics.

I liked it when he gave the "thumbs down" on the healthcare bid.

He knew it would be a shaft to people with pre-existing conditions and those who make less than $200,00 a year.
