I like to bet on horses through TwinSpires.com (Thanks to MY Sheriff for recommending it to me, years ago). I have found that my luck is with betting the Australian Racetracks. They have oggles and oggles of long shots to play. Anyway, when it is day time there, it is night time here, so I can play usually after 10pm here. I've always had very good luck with my long shot bets. They have quite a few different tracks so I can bet from one track to another without having to wait 20 minutes in between races.
On Sunday night, I remembered I still had $4.00 left on my betting account and thought I'd toss it on a horse
and see what happens. Well...this is what happened.
1st bet with my $4.00, I got back $40.00.
2nd bet, I got back $94.80
3rd bet, I got back $10.20.
I have always wanted to throw $10.00 on one horse, but was always afraid to, but decided this would be
the night I do it!
4th bet, I played $10.00 to place on a 99-1 shot and it came in 2nd, (I actually bet $2 on it first, then decided to put $10.00 on it so it was really a $12.00 bet). I got $715.80 back. Which was $119.30 for the $2.00 bet and $596.50 for the $10.00 bet.
5th bet...nothing.
6th bet, I got $118.10 back.
7th bet, nothing.
8th bet, nothing.
So....I did win money back on 5 out of 8 races. Not a bad night for starting off with $4.00!
