NFL Playoffs

The field narrows. Seahawks and Patriots advance, SF/Carolina & Denver/San Diego to be decided today. Think I'll go with SF & Denver. Maybe take Seahawks versus Patriots in the Superbowl.

I'll take Seahawks over SF and Pats over Denver.

I'll have to check out the uniforms and get back to you with my picks.

I think I'll go look at the colours of the uniforms, too! It's about as accurate as anything else to bet on when it comes to these teams. They're all looking pretty tough, so once again it's going to come down to who makes the first mistake!

The neighbor says New England over the Broncos. I got a six pack bet the says he's wrong!

Nope. Going for double or nothing. I'm taking Denver to win the Superbowl, the neighbor has Seattle and I hedged my bet by betting a six pack with my wife, who's taking Denver, while I'll take Seattle with her. And my neighbor on the other side owes me a case for taking care of his puppy on 2 cats while he was on vacation, so I can cover the bets and have beer to spare. Or I can just get a bottle of whisky and we'll all do boiler makers and nobody will remember who owes what or bet what or care!

I'll bet you a 12 pack of Coke, Denver will win. Why? Because I want them to win and show that smartmouthed Sherman from Seattle, that Crabtree was right and he ISN'T the best!  

Sorry, we can't make the bet. After seeing that nut case Shermy, we're going for Denver, too! Anyway, we kind of feel like honorary Denver residents since we've been stuck so many times in their blasted airport! I wonder if the weather around there is ever good enough for planes to fly out on time? In summer it's thunderstorms, fires and tornadoes and in winter it's snow!

Gin? Well, I shall look him up next time we're there! Perhaps I can interest him in my special recipe for a Singapore Sling. I found out something interesting about Sherm the loco safety. Turns out the guy has a degree in communications from Stanford and those rants of his are carefully choregraphed to gain attention for ads, brands, etc. that'll make him some extra cash (turns out to work pretty well, too). Still, I like Denver's uniforms and there logo much better than I like Seattle's...

Well, Denver now owns the two worst Superbowl losses.  Last night's 43-8, 35 point loss to Seattle was only exceeded by Denver's previous loss to SF in 1990 which was by 55-10, a difference of 45 points!  I think Snoopy and his birdies were better than Denver last night!

I'll have to check in on our ZZ and drop him off a bottle of gin for his sorrow.

There's a really butt kicking brand of vodka (100 proof) that's called 'Ostrov' (or something like that) he'd probably like. It's got a picture of an ugly bearded guy with a fur hat on the label. We had some when I lived in Iowa. It took us two days to find our way out of the cornfield we'd been drinking in!

I've always tried to do my best in achieving lofty goals! One day I hope to be able to chug a full pitcher of beer without any running out my nose!

Ah, a new round of playoffs. Carolina vs. Arizona was just a question of who'd mess up worse. Arizona did and Carolina won. The Steelers vs. Ravens was an easy call. The Ravens played well and the Steelers couldn't score. Looks like a bunch of older Pittsburgh guys will retire this year. Anyone have an idea of who looks good to take it all?

Nuts. I missed both games yesterday because the remodeling guys worked late. It's hard to watch TV with all the pounding going on. On the other hand, I got to give it to these guys. They said they'd have the work done by Tuesday and they're working on Saturday & Sunday late to meet the deadline. Don't see job dedication like that too much these days!

Yeah, that's so true. Usually they would charge triple for working weekends.

They contracted the job for a flat fee, so it pays for them to complete it on time. And they're finishing up today as agreed. They've done very good, detailed work. They asked if I'd be willing to give them a reference. We certainly will! It's not always easy to find people that care about the quality of their work these days.

Maybe do a review for them on M3C.

I would, but they aren't actually a company. They did this as a side job. Most of their work comes through a general contractor that does larger jobs (commercial). They were in between projects and we paid them cash.
