Left wingers and right wingers

As we all know in politics, there are left wingers (liberals), and right wingers (conservative). But they are also left and right winger positions in a hockey matchup.

Well to make a long story short, this one particular thread on the uberpeople forum was turning politics so I decided to have some fun and do a little punning and play on words. Since a lot of people aren't familiar former hockey players Mike Bossy (right winger for nY islanders) and John Tonelli (right winger ny islanders/Calgary flame). I posted something like this: this is a copy and paste from the uber forum:

I always get akick out of this sort of thing. Now imagine if I discussed having tea parties (actual parties serving) tea.. Anyway enjoy the readings.

BTW Alain, who is your pic in the upcoming NHL playoffs. I'd love to see the Isles win a cup before they move to Brooklyn.

Since I lived in DC for a long while and played a pick up game with some Caps, I'll go with the Capitals. I'll also go for the Blackhawks because I lived in Chicago, too, and they were nice enough to let me try out. The Pens are favourites, as well, because everyone in Pittsburgh is a Pens fan (not safe to have other allegiances!). I do also like The Islanders (I didn't know they were going to Brooklyn) because I spent a lot of time on long Island a long while back. As you can tell, I'm very much a fair weather fan!

I was right degense, but my brother could play either right wing or left wing (he's ambidextrose or however you spell that word). Would that make him a political moderate or just a pain in the butt for a defenseman?

Unfortunately, since I live out in the Midwest, I can't seem get Rangers/Isle games unless they're playing the Blackhawks or Minnesota.

It would be nice if the NHL would get together with ESPN or something and get more coast-to-coast coverage on the various teams!

College football and basketball seem to get more attention in Iowa, even more then other professional sports leagues like NFL, NBA etc. Hockey is a mere after thought.

For people in Iowa, hockey is a sport they pay in foreign countries like Chicago!
