What's for Lunch

For lunch, I'm making BBQ Pork Chops (I gave them a good tasty rub this evening and put them in the fridge) homemade BBQ sauce...Mac and cheese and I'm thinking about making some home made coleslaw. Alain...I'll leave a tray at the window for you.

The other day, my car had the BIGGEST, messiest, disgusting bird plop I've ever seen!
I would have thought it was from you, up in the tree...if it wasn't white! It was splattered on the passenger side of the window, the side mirror, the top of the car, the windshield AND the side of my apartment!!!!!

That sounds like the work of the Detroit Vulture, a breed that feeds on mounds of garbage left uncollected in financially distressed and bankrupt cities. I've heard they might be migrating via Toledo!

And you have the best seat!

I know, but I'm scared of the things! They look like ex-car company executives with feathers and ugly, bald heads!

Stripes will protect you.

That's true. Stripes is pretty reliable and he works for just peanuts and beer!

Beer? That will make him as drunk as a skunk!!!

The only drawback to that is beer makes you fart. And there's nothing quite so bad as a skunk with beer farts!

Unless the skunk is a lady skunk...because everyone knows, in Basherville...ladies don't fart!!!

I don't think Stripes is a lady and I'm not about to check, either!

Nope! I don't take risks anymore. I watch the younger generation do it and see if they survive. Sometimes older folks do risky stuff, like that Nyad gal swimming the Straits of Florida to satisfy an obsession and get 5 minutes of fame or someone trying to make like they're part of the younger crowd. It's good entertainment, but usually not a good idea.

Oh come on! The best things to do are those that say, "Do Not Try This At Home"!

And the first thing that happens is somebody "Tries it at Home"!

Then they win $10,000.00 from AFV, for being stupid and recording it.

*sigh*...Ya know, you're probably right. It just doesn't pay to use your brain anymore!
No sense fighting it. I think I'll go and pee on the neighbor's Rottweiller (it's usually out in their backyard at this hour) and record it for 'YouTube'.

Hmmmm, maybe you have a point. Perhaps I should limit my risk taking to things like putting real cream in my coffee instead of 2% milk!

Yeah, plus the squirrels are out looking for nuts at this time of the year too.

Now that just hurts thinking about it!!

Atchafalaya?

It's really the Atchafalaya River basin which starts west of the Mississippi/Louisiana border (at the Mississippi River), is bordered roughly by Banton Rouge in the east, Lafayette in the west and Morgan City in the south. It's a major part of the Corps. of Engineers lower Mississippi flood control system. Other than that, it's got a lot of swamp critters (there are some really big-50/100 lbs.-Alligator Snappers and fat Cottonmouths there!) people and some oil drilling areas.

So what's for lunch? Turtle stew, of course!
