Get ready for the Tenth Annual World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD)! People across the globe are encouraged, on Saturday, May 4, 2013 to tend their portion of the world's garden unclothed as nature intended.

Gardening has a timeless quality, and anyone can do it: young and old, singles or groups, the fit and infirm, urban and rural. An elderly lady in a Manhattan apartment can plant new annuals in her window box. Families can rake leaves in their back yard. Freehikers can pull invasive weeds along their favorite stretch of trail. More daring groups can make rapid clothes-free sorties into public parks to do community-friendly stealth cleanups.

Why garden naked? First of all, it's fun! Second only to swimming, gardening is at the top of the list of family-friendly activities people are most ready to consider doing nude. Moreover, our culture needs to move toward a healthy sense of both body acceptance and our relation to the natural environment. Gardening naked is not only a simple joy, it reminds us--even if only for those few sunkissed minutes--that we can be honest with who we are as humans and as part of this planet.

I wasn't gonna post pics on here...but...Ahem....http://www.wngd.org/

Hup Ho! What a superb idea! Time for the neighbors to catch a long look at my hairy butt as I tend my radishes! I'll be happy to do some yard work for you. You can make a bundle of bucks by charging the neighbors and passers-by $100 to have me put my clothes back on!

Does your wife know that she married a crazy man?

Yep! I am, despite appearences to the contrary, a principled lunatic, though! (I'd also be a tad nervous and embarrassed to be wandering around bare-bottomed in the garden! I saw the pictures of some of the guys on that website. Seriously, old boys, put some lionclothes on!)

There's been so much rain this summer, I think the plants and grass have almost gotten too much water! I'm seeing cattails where there used to be lawn!

We had a little rain lastnight...maybe three lightening strikes...just a teaser.

This is one of the wettest summers anyone can remember around here. The weather has been kind of odd all over the place. It'll probably snow like mad come winter!

Not quite yet, but maybe sooner this year than it normally is?

Oh...well, maybe you can shake the dandruff out of your hair from the tree...and I can pretend it's snowing for now.

That's not dandruff! It's Ivory Snow detergent flakes. I was washing Stripes the cat. He still smells like a skunk, though! I can't understand why?

I smelled him for the last two nights. I wish you would do something about that.
In fact, I found little skinny hand/paw prints on the front bumper of my car yesterday...I'm not sure if they belonged to Stripes or not....but just a warningt to whatever it was, I DO NOT knock on the hood of my car as a warning to any critters before I start my car, that may crawl up under it!

That wasn't Stripes,. Honest! He's great at keeping buglars away, though. (and everyone else when he's in a bad mood, too!)

Stripes wouldn't like all this ocean anyway. He'd like this cabin tho!

It's not going to be long before there's some lawn work and Spring cleaning to do! My project for this Spring: Clean and paint the basement. It should be completed by 2020.

That should have been your winter project!

Well, it was on the schedule, but would you believe snow shoveling interfered with it?

naw, i wouldn't believe that, either...

We have a few snowflakes dancing around out there now....we should be getting more as the day goes on.

We had snow, but it was slightly above freezing so it only stuck to the grass. The large flakes made a really pretty scene. It made me so lazy (which isn't too hard to do) that I watched the birds at the feeder with the cat and then we both took a nice, long nap! Whatever it was that i was supposed to do will just have to wait for another day...
