I'm not a fan of wrestling ... but hey, we finally have a world champion here and his name is NOT Lebron James! They interviewed this champ this morning on our local morning show and he's just all smiles. Congrats Stipe!!!

Well, I guess that means that Cleveland now has the baddest of the bad!

That's right and he seems to be a Down To Earth kind of guy...so far.

I noticed that. Kind of refreshing and you hope it lasts!

He might even be Basherville approved...but, I'll have to keep an eye on him for awhile before inviting him here as a resident.

As long as he doesn't get caught up in the ego thing, he might work out!

Basher, LeBron is going to be all over the place now! You do have a Championship, though!

I just saw some sort of Sumo wrestling championship on NHK, the Tokoyo news station. Maybe Cleveland could send a Sumo guy over there to get another championship for the city?

SUMO! SUMO! SUMO!
Cleveland was a big winner with the RNC! I was glued to the police scanner...that was interesting for a week! A robot fighting with a man. A woman with a jar of pickle juice. A man spending too much time in a Port-A-Potty, turned out he was bathing in there (Don't ask me any questions, that's what was reported), a man with a baby doll wrapped up in a flag...I'm surprised we made it through all that violence!!! We had more media than anything here. The cops actually laughed when they were told to go check out a crowd gathering at Public Square...it turned out it was 3 protesters, and about 100 people from the media...LOL. They had nothing to report! LOL....let's see how it goes in Philly this week.

The pundits predicted all sorts of stuff, but thankfully it didn't happen. Of course, if you are a media pundit, you don't have to be right to keep your job. They are wrong most of the time about all sorts of subjects, but nobody seems to bother to look at their track record. Nice job if you can get it. The DNC has an advantage for keeping the attendees happy. Pennsylvania conveniently changed their antique liquor laws so that Dems can pretty much get booze anytime they want. They can even bring it in from home, which for everyone else in PA is illegal unless you pay huge taxes and fill out reams of paperwork. Demonstrators, however, will still have time limits and lack of booze access, which may be a good thing. They won't even be able to smoke pot since that's still a felony in PA and will be until around the year 2100. Ben Franklin and the Founding Fathers would be disappointed since in their day, you could drink booze anytime you wanted. Booze was safer than water back then, too. And toilet paper hadn't been invented. Also, most people died at about 40 then, so maybe there was a good reason to stay half-skunked!

What are the gun laws there? They allow open carry here and that was a big reason the media thought they would have some riots to cover when they were here. It looked like the wild, wild west with people walking around with guns strapped to them.

I think some sort of license is needed here and I'm almost sure you can't go around Philly wearing a gun or with an AK strapped across you pretending you're Rambo without getting at least detained. Or, if you make a wrong move, getting shot by an understanably alert and nervous trained police officer. Thus far, fruitcake vigilantes are discouraged here. A lot of us have guns, but we have no desire to play Wyatt Earp.

I know a lot of people have hunting rifles in PA. But, I didn't know what their gun laws are.

Almost all of the hunters are very good about laws and safety. There's always going to be a few fools (and they receive attention when they mess up, as they always do). The people parading around with firearms at public events (particularly in cities where there isn't much to hunt unless you like small squirrels and pigeons) aren't usually hunters. They are show offs. The people I know that have guns usually have them locked up in safes so they aren't stolen or to keep them away from children if they have any. I haven't hunted in years. I'm just not up to trotting out in the woods too long or sitting in a tree stand feeling my back getting stiff. It's much easier to grill a burger and have a beer in the backyard!

But....you LIVE in a tree! By the way they cut down that tree in front of my bedroom window about two weeks ago! I was hoping you weren't home sleeping in it at 8am when they cut it down. Guess, you'll have to relocate to the tree in front of my kitchen window...but...no stealing pies from my window pane!

I was, um, not aware of the tree?! We seem to be fine here, Stripes and I. But I think we may have misssed a few things since there was an "Ale Tasting" event in Columbus?! I have to check in with you more often!

I like womens basketball more than the NBA. For some reason I can follow the female players more closely without getting bored!

The Cleveland Indians are in first place in their division. Could Cleveland make it all the way? Or will the Detroit Tiggers ruin the dream....

DebtorBasher

They better make it all the way...then maybe they will shut up about Lebron!!!

They were talking about his new TV show coming on soon. I guess it's going to be kind of like Shark Tank, but he and other sports figures will be investing in business' or sporting business' to help build up communities or something like that.

Well, I suppose it's good if they are trying to help communities, but I always get the feeling that they are trying to help themselves when it comes to shows like that.

It's pretty easy for them to give advice when they are multimillionaires.
