What's for Lunch

Hi, Hydekelso, good to see you! Churros sound tasty and Dintymoore stew is a staple of any boy scout camping trip (at least any of the ones I went on in the 60's). It's great with a little Tabsco, as I recall.

Dintymoore is Hormel and Hormel is banned from Basherville!

Has anyone heard from Stew at all in the past year or so???

Not me. Wonder what he's up to? What's wrong with Hormel? Spam is great stuff!

I'll have to track him down. As I said, I haven't heard from him since that big tornado ripped through OKC....I hope nothing happened to him or his family...he's good people, no matter what Nic he uses!

I bought a loaf of Wonder bread yesterday...it was all dried too. WHAT have they done to all of our bread? It's going to feed the birds today. I guess I'll have to go on a hunt for some Milbrook and see if they have changed.

It doesn't seem to matter what the brand name is on any food these days, it's usually owned by a large corporation that has a dozen other products under other familiar brand names. KFC is now owned by a Chinese corporation called Yum that also (I think) owns Pizza Hut. Heck, for bread, at least, I'll just spend the extra buck and get it from the bakery!

I didn't know they were a Chinese company. YUM was a client of ours when I worked in corporate collections. They are in Kentucky, at least their offices are that I used to deal with. They were always very friendly to talk with.

I thought they were based in China, but I could be wrong. I do know that they have a China division, but darn near every large corporation does these days.

You're right. Yum! brands is based in Louisville, KY. Oops!

Of course I'm right...I'm the Basher!
Kentucky was my territory when I was doing corp. collections. Thim thar Kentuckians were always so pleasant and friendly folks. They always say, 'How are yewwwwwww?' That always made me laugh, as soon as they'd call and say that, I knew it was someone calling from Kentucky.

I've only been to the part of Kentuckt that's near WVA and the tip of VA. They're very nice down there, too!

Lunch today....a pot of beans and homemade bread!

If he's around, that's a meal that will bring him to your door! And maybe me, too!

Lunch today....baked beans made from yesterday's left over beans!

Baked beans are like lasagna. They taste even better the next day!

Since I'm in Thailand for the day, today's lunch will be stir fried ant larve (a local specialty) with hot peppers and some grilled lizard chunks with a bit of coconut milk (also a local favourite). It's a pretty healthy meal, as it turns out, but I don't think we'll see it at the Burger King anytime soon!

Fair warning while in Thailand....no matter how pretty they may be, those aren't always girls that come up to you with 'special offers'.

Girls or fake girls, the one thing you can depend on in Thailand is that they have a 'gift' for you that current antibiotics or antivirals may not cure! The food is interesting, the other 'entertaiment' could very well be deadly!

Think I'll go for a bowl of Saifun with chili peppers today!

I'm thinking...Big Mac or Subway today.

I've put on a few pounds so I'm trying to stick to vegetables for lunch. But dinner remains normal. I'll make some concessions to lose a bit of weight, but I'm not giving up my meat at dinner!

I'll be making my 'Basher Pizza Lasagna'. Layers of Lasagna, pizza sauce, pepperoni, sausage, black olives, and cheeeeeeeeeeeeese! YUMMY! Too bad you're on a veggie diet. I was actually planning on doing a veggie Lasagna...maybe I still will. I'm not sure yet, I've been draining the spinach for two days now...LOL...that stuff is like a sponge!!!

Lasagna is always good! Make the veggie style, but just add some meat to it!

Thanks to my visit to the dentist yesterday, looks like my meals will be soup for a while. Oh well, I should be able to lose some weight this way!
