That's true. I don't think they'll be among the playoff folks this year, but you never know.

Blasted Flyers took the Penguins 2-1 last night. I hate it when that happens.

Well, I think your closest hockey team is the Columbus Bluejackets. You can find them in the standings...at the bottom! (Actually, you may be closer to Detroit, and they're usually pretty good...)

Yea! The Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 45-23 to take the Grey Cup!

A hockey game in Yankee Stadium! Now that was fun to watch. As an added plus, the NY Rangers take down the Jersey Devils. Most enjoyable unless you're a Devils fan!

My little Great-Nephew (just turned 7 years old last month) got to be the goalie for his team this past weekend...he was so excited...I'll have to check and see how he did. He LOVES Hockey.

I'll bet he blocked every shot sent his way! It's fun to watch the younger players. They pad them all up so they can not only have fun playing the game, but also can't really hurt themselves when they fall on the ice. With this weather, they probably can play pick up games in their driveways!

Blasted Canadian female hockey team! Knocked us off again for the gold. I do hope the US Mens team gets revenge today. I hope they remember that Syd Crosby (a Penguin who plays for Canada) has a weak jaw. Not that I'd want to see any violence in a hockey game, of course.

Of course not...that wouldn't be very sportsmen like.

I'm a fan and former player. Sportsmanship need not apply!
Still, it's the Olympics, so I should be looking at more noble ideals and such!

Oh well, so much for the US men's hockey team. Maybe next time.

The Penguins met up with the Canadiens last night. Pittsburgh's much adored Syd Crosby ( a Nova Scotian) got beaten by Montreal's collection of rowdy French-Canadiens. Suck on that, captain of Canada's olympic hockey team!

Just saw a news clip showing the NYPD and the NYPD hockey teams at a charity game in Madison Square Garden enjoying themselves in a bench-clearing brawl. Hilarious!

I was going to ask you if you heard about that. Geesh...a big fight like that, they should have called the Police!

I'll bet New York's pro teams, the Rangers and the Islanders, were watching and laughing their butts off!

I'm rooting for the Blackhawks, too! My wife will be for the Penguins, of course, since she's a native Pittsburgher. Maybe we'll all be surprised and Columbus will go all the way, but I really don't think that's going to happen!

Pretty good Stanley Cup playoffs so far. The surprising Columbus Blue Jackets have evened their series with the Penguins at 2-2, Dallas is 2-2 with Anaheim, The Blackhawks and St. Louis are 2-2, Detroit hangs on against Boston 2-1, the NY Rangers have Philly at a 2-1 disadvantage, the LA Kings are almost out against the San Jose Sharks by 3-0 and Tampa Bay (who may have violated the infamous #8 rule about porcupines in Florida) got dusted off by Montreal (where they know better than to get amorous with quill bearing creatures) 4 to zip.

Playoffs! Seems like they just had the playoffs!  

They stretch the whole thing out into May these days. Latest update: Minnesota evens up with Colorado 2-2, Boston takes a 3-1 lead over Detroit and LA Kings manage to hold off San Jose making it a 3-1 in the best of seven series.

Is Spittsburg out of it?

No! The Pittsburgh and Columbus Blue Jackets series is tied at 2-2. They play tonight. I'm assuming you're rooting for Columbus?

Last night the Penguins won, but the next game is in Columbus so the Blue Jackets could even up the series again there.
