Well, I obviously have to root for the Penguins, but I gotta say, the Blue Jackets have been playing some really good hockey! I think the game is tonight. It's elimination for Columbus if P'burgh wins. I'd prefer to see it go into another elimination game 7, though.

It a good time for you to switch since Columbus lost (just barely 4-3) to the Pens in the elimination. So, who looks good for the Derby and which horseys have weird names? I like the ones with funny names!

And so far: Kings ahead of Ducks 2-0, Pens lead Rangers 2-1, Blackhawks thumping Wild 2-0 and Canadiens/Boston tied at 1 apiece.

Unless the Rangers pick up their play a notch, it won't be New York!

The Rangers played great and won 3 in a row, which eliminated Pittsburgh. The Blackhawks (Yea!) knocked off Minnesota. And the field gets smaller...

Not too much longer now. Montreal, who beat the Bruins last night to take that series, will play the NY Rangers for the Eastern Conference final and the Chicago Blackhawks will play the winner of LA Kings vs. Annaheim Mighty Ducks for the Western final. Then those winners will play for the Cup. And it's all better than basketball!

Is the play for the S-Cup a series, or just one game?

It's a best of 7 game series. From the NHL's point of view, the longer the series, the more $$ you make!

Yep! The next match up is Montreal v New York for the Eastern Conference finals and LA v Chicago for the Western Conference finals. After that, the actual Stanley Cup.

I'll pick Montreal and Chicago...then, Montreal for the win of of cup!

I remember when we lived in yucky Buffalo...all we would hear about was the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs....Are the Sabres still around?

My niece was just a baby when we lived there and one of her first words was, 'Hockey Puck'. It was surprising to us because she was standing by the window watching the neighborhood kids playing hockey in the street and we heard her say, 'Hockey Puck! Hockey Puck!'. We didn't even know she knew what a hockey puck was...let alone seeing kids playing with it from a second floor window.

You're niece was on her way to being a fine fan of hockey! "Hockey puck" are usually the first words of Canadian babies when they eat their first solid Canadian food! The Sabres are still around, but they haven't done much in a while. The NY Rangers have a 0ne game lead on the Canadiens for the series. The Balckhawks and LA Kings have their first game today. I'm Going with Montreal and Chicago with the Blackhawks being my pick to take the Cup.

So far, the Rangers have a 3-1 lead over Montreal as of last night and the Blackhawks v Kings will break a 2-2 tie in that series tonight. I may have cursed both the Blackhawks and Canadiens by rooting for them!

Well, we did live near the Peace Bridge. We were able to see it from our house, so we were pretty close to Canada when we lived in our haunted 150 year old house in Buffalo. In fact, we used to go to Canada to the Fort Erie Racetrack and Crystal Beach...and when it was nice, we would get off the bus on the Peace Bridge and walk home...otherwise, the bus would take us all the way to downtown, then we'd have to take a bus home from Downtown.

I'll take Montreal and Chicago...with Montreal taking the cup.

Good location being so close to the border! You could have fun in either country! So, was your house haunted by a Canadian or an American or both?

I don't know if it was haunted by Canadians or Americans...but there were children ghost there for sure. We would hear our toy dishes being played with during the night and always a ball bouncing...there were a lot of strange things in that house. My Mom got up at night to let the dog out and a misty form blocked the doorway between the dining room and kitchen.

Now that would be VERY spooky! How old was the house?

It was 150 years old when we lived there. Funny thing is, I've always had a re-occuring dream for years after we moved from there. I would always dream that the latch on the door that lead to the basement was unlocked, and I always had to 'sneak' over to try and lock it. There was a reason it scared me and I had to lock that door. All of a sudden I stopped having that dream, and that's when I found out they tore the place down. There was surely something that happened in that house at some point.

I've never had any haunted experience. I guess all the places I've lived in were too new or nothing bad had happened in them. Except one apartment when I was in when I was younger. I remember looking at the ceiling, which had a stucco like paint on it, and thinking the painters had done a lousy job because there were little dots of patching in a circle in the living room. It turned out the tenant before me had blown his head off with a shotgun there. I didn't learn that until after I'd rented the place. He never bothered to haunt the place, though. Sounds like some sort of spirit or something was ticked off in your Buffalo place!

The place in Buffalo was built in the 1800's and the attic looked original with the old, old, old yellowed/browned wallpaper. And, at the top of the attic stairs, it looked like blood stain running down the wall and it was all brown and old too. It looked as if someone was blown away at the top of the stairs.
